None But Jesus

None But Jesus~

In the quiet, in the stillness
I know that You are God
In the secret of Your presence
I know there I am restored

When You call I won’t refuse
Each new day again I’ll choose

There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live
to bring Him praise

In the chaos, in confusion
I know You’re Sovereign still
In the moment of my weakness
You give me grace to do Your will

When You call I won’t delay
This my song through all my days

All my delight is in You Lord
All of my hope, all of my strength
All my delight is in You Lord Forevermore

Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul

captivating Pictures, Images and Photos

Every little girl has dreams of being swept up into a great adventure, of being the beautiful princess. Sadly, when women grow up, they are often swept up into a life filled merely with duty and demands. Many Christian women are tired, struggling under the weight of the pressure to be a "good servant," a nurturing caregiver, or a capable home manager.

What Wild at Heart did for men, Captivating can do for women. This groundbreaking book shows readers the glorious design of women before the fall, describes how the feminine heart can be restored, and casts a vision for the power, freedom, and beauty of a woman released to be all she was meant to be. By revealing the core desires every woman shares-to be romanced, to play an irreplaceable role in a grand adventure, and to unveil beauty-John and Stasi Eldredge invite women to recover their feminine hearts, created in the image of an intimate and passionate God. Further, they encourage men to discover the secret of a woman's soul and to delight in the beauty and strength women were created to offer.

Published in 2005 by John Eldredge and his wife Stasi, it proposes that women have three core desires: "to be romanced, to play an irreplaceable role in a great adventure, and to unveil beauty."

Excerpt from the last chapter of “Captivating” by John and Stasi Eldgredge:

“Jesus knew who he was. He knew where he had come from and where he was going. He knew why he was here. And so, in power and strength, in humility and complete freedom, he offers. He ministers to and ultimately pours out his life as an offering for ours. Pleasing and holy and acceptable. Jesus does this, he says, as ‘an example that you should do as I have done for you’ (v.15).

God really does want to know who YOU are. He wants you to be able to understand the story of your life, to know where you have come from, and to know where you are going. There is freedom there. Freedome to be and to offer and to love. So, may we take a moment and remind you who you truly are?

~You are a woman. An image bearer of God. The Crown of Creation. You were chosen before time and space, and you are wholly and deeply loved. You are sought after, pursued, and romanced, the passionate desire of your Fiance, Jesus. You are dangerous in your beauty and your life-giving power. And you are needed.

As a woman who has been ransomed and redeemed, you can be strong and tender. You speak to the world of God’s mercy, mystery, beauty, and his desire for intimate relationship. You are inviting; You can risk being vulnerable, offering the weight of your life as well as your need for more because you are safe in God’s love. You labor with God to bring forth life–in creativity, in work, in others. Your aching, awakened heart leads you to the feet of Jesus, where you wait on him and wait for him. The eyes of his heart are ever upon you. The King is captivated by your beauty.

We need you. We need you to awaken to God more fully and to awaken to the desires of the heart that he placed within you so that you will come alive to him and to the role that is yours to play. Perhaps you are meant to be a concert musician or a teacher. Perhaps you are meant to be a neurologist or horse trainer. Perhaps you are to be an activist for ecology or the poor or the aged or the ill. You are certainly called to be a woman, wherever else he leades you.

And that is crucial, dear heart. Whatever your particular calling, you are meant to grace the world with your dance, to follow the lead of Jesus wherever he leads you. He will lead you first to himself; and then, with him, he will lead you into the world that he loves and needs you to love.

It is by invitation.

Jesus is extending his hand to you. He is inviting you to dance with him. He asks, ‘May I have this dance . . . every day of your life?’ His gaze is fixed on you. He is captivated by your beauty. He is smiling. He cares nothing of the opinion of others. He is standing. He will lead. He waits for your response.

My lover spoke and said to me,
‘Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, and come with me.’ (Song of Solomon 2:10).”

FIREPROOF (Movie and Novel)

fireproof Pictures, Images and Photos

"At work, inside burning buildings, Capt. Caleb Holt lives by the old firefighter's adage: Never leave your partner behind. At home, in the cooling embers of his marriage, he lives by his own rules.

Growing up, Catherine Holt always dreamed of marrying a loving, brave firefighter...just like her daddy. Now, after seven years of marriage, Catherine wonders when she stopped being "good enough" for her husband.

Regular arguments over jobs, finances, housework, and outside interests have readied them both to move on to something with more sparks.

As the couple prepares to enter divorce proceedings, Caleb's father challenges his son to commit to a 40-day experiment: "The Love Dare." Wondering if it's even worth the effort, Caleb agrees-for his father's sake more than for his marriage. When Caleb discovers the book's daily challenges are tied into his parents' newfound faith, his already limited interest is further dampened.

While trying to stay true to his promise, Caleb becomes frustrated time and again. He finally asks his father, "How am I supposed to show love to somebody who constantly rejects me?"

When his father explains that this is the love Christ shows to us, Caleb makes a life-changing commitment to love God. Andówith God's helpóhe begins to understand what it means to truly love his wife.

But is it too late to fireproof his marriage? His job is to rescue others. Now Caleb Holt is ready to face his toughest job ever...rescuing his wife's heart."

This is an amazing movie that all should see!! It really speaks to your heart and makes you look at your marraige or if you are not married how a marraige planted in the firm foundation of God should be! There is emotion, suspense, redemption and love in this movie! The most important thing to me is that it shows the message of the changing power of Jesus Christ and eternal salvation! It really makes you stop and think on if you are treating your spouse the way you vowed you would treat them!

It also has an amazing sountrack!! My favorite song in this film is "While I'm Wating" by John Waller.

Though None Go With Me

"On the day of her granddaughter's departure to California -- in the company of her rock musician boyfriend -- Elizabeth Leroy Bishop (Cheryl Ladd) tries to tell her the story of how she came to spend her life in the town of Three Rivers, and the rewards she has received from that life. We flash back to 1950, just after Elizabeth's mother died of cancer -- of college age, Elizabeth (Amy Grabow) comes home to live with her physician father (Christopher Allport), and meets the young associate pastor Ben Phillips (Brad Rowe), who is newly arrived in town. Elizabeth is heavily involved with the life of the church, and the two quickly become friends and more. Ben eventually asks Elizabeth to marry him; but first he must fulfill his obligation as a minister, to serve as an army chaplain in Korea. A series of tragedies test Elizabeth's faith over the ensuing 50 years, and just as she reaches a point of beginning to understand what she sees as God's plan for her, two unexpected events await."

If you are looking for something to lift your faith I highly recommend this movie! There were a couple of lines in the movie that touched my heart and I have been thinking on them both since I first saw this movie two days ago.

The first is the saying, "Though none go with me still I will follow. No turning back, no turning back!" I took this to mean that no matter what happens in my life and even if I am the only one that is willing, I will follow God and do what he wants in my life!

The second line that really hit home was, "You have made a commitment to God, NOT a bargain." If things are not going our way we tend to look at God and say, "Lord this is not what I had in mind!" Well, guess what, it is what HE has in mind and He knows what is right for us! We must always remember to stay commited to Him in our lives at all costs, not just when it is convenient or when things are going our way!

This movie will really make you think and look at the way you are living your life. Be sure to bring along a box of kleenex and of couurse, an open heart and willing ears!

The Road Less Traveled

Two Roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same;
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black,
Oh I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads onto way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the road less traveled by
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

This is my favorite poem. The road less traveled, which is the road that is walked with our Heavenly Father, is always the best path to take on this Journey. I am so glad that I chose to take the road less traveled so many years ago! Without my Heavenly Father I don't know where I would be in this life! I am so grateful for His gift of Grace!

Sisters In Christ Recipe

Shortening- Provides texture. Our fellowship and friendship with our sisters in the Lord can add much depth and texture to our lives. We blend together in unity as part of the body of Christ.

Sugar- Adds sweetness. Our fellowship with our sisters adds such a sweet taste to our lives. If we didn't have sugar in our cookies, we'd sure miss it. The same is with our fellowship with our sisters. We can't leave it out of our lives.

Eggs- Holds ingrediants together. Sisters in the Lord are someone to lean on. We are held together by fellowship with them. We are stonger because of them, their prayers, and their love in the Lord. We have a special bond in Christ.

Vanilla- Adds flavor. Sisters add that flavor we need. They give us that extra sensation. Without friends and fellowship, we become kind of bland.

Flour- Adds substance. We need the substance a sister in the Lord can add. They give us many things by way of mentoring us when we don't even know it. Their shared testimonies and way they live their lives has an impact on us.

Baking Soda- Leavens. Leavening agents in baking soda helps to lighten the dough. Friendship with our sisters in Christ lightens our burdens through their prayer and encouragement.

Salt- Enhances flavor. We know that friendships add flavor and just when we need it, they help improve the tastefulness and quality of our lives. Friends are the type of people that know just what we are going through and are there when we need them.

Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips- The kind of chocolate chips we normally add to our cookies is semi sweet. Our sister friends tell us what they feel and think and that's okay. They can be honest and truthful to us. "Iron sharpeneth iron" Proverbs 27:17

Nuts...Optional- Just a little craziness in a sister friend is great! Sometimes a little zaniness in our friends can be just the ingredient we need.

Conclusion:Friendships take alot of time and effort to bake up but they are worth it when we sense that sweet aroma and special bond that they bring. Friends that have Jesus in common will have lasting relationships, not just here on earth, but will dwell with Christ together throughout eternity.

"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly; and there is a friend that sticketh closer thean a brother." Proverbs 18:24

A woman has strengths that amaze men.She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens. She holds happiness, love and opinions. She smiles when she feels like screaming. She sings when she feels like crying, cries when she's happy and laughs when she is afraid. Her love is unconditional! There is only one thing wrong with her:She sometimes forgets what she is worth.....

Thanks so much to my amazing Aunt Melissa for sharing this at our last Ladies Bible Study!! I hope that this is something that I am able to apply to all of my friendships!!

I have recently found a new friend that is simply amazing!! Her name is Karol and though I have only known her a few weeks I feel like she has always been my sister!! She is a ray of sunshine on cloudy days!! I am so thankful to my heavenly Father that he placed her in my life!! He knew that I needed a sister to walk with me through this Journey that we call life! Karol, you are an amazing, beautiful and strong woman of God! Never forget that! You make me want to be a stronger woman of God. Thank you so much for the encouragement that you are always willing to give!! I love you my darling sister!
